Common welth game General Secretary News report

We have pleasure to inform you that the All India Karate Do Federation (recognized by Government of India & Indian Olympic Association) brought laurels by winning medals in 4th common wealth karate championships held at Edinburgh, Scotland from 31st May to June 1st 2008 . More than 1800 karatekas participated from 51 common wealth countries. 16 members Indian contingent clinched 2 Gold’s and 5 bronze medals in under 10 years’ category& Girls kata event. Incidentally the winners are all from Maharashtra . Team led by sensei Karate. R. Thiagarajan President, AIKF as chief de Mission, sensei M. Kanaharaj , Technical Director, AIKF and Kyoshi Vispy B. Kapadia, Vice President, AIKF as chief coach& sensei Salaudin Ansari as coach. India also got top Honours during 4th common wealth congress Sensei R.Thiagarajan President, AIKF has been elected as Vice President of Common Wealth Karate Federation and Kyoshi Vispy B. Kapadia as member of Executive council. India (All India Karate Do Federation) is hosting the next 5th common wealth karate championships at Chennai in the month of June 2009. During the Grand Finale of 4th common wealth karate Championships, Common Wealth Karate Flag is handed over to AIKF, President Sensei R. Thiagarajan Karate as you know has been recognized as a Sport by Government of India & Indian Olympic Association & School Games Federation of India . The above organization has been promoting the art of Karate as a sport for the last 28 years to popularize this sport; we sincerely need your support to spread this more widely over all schools / colleges in country. We the New managing committee strives hard to uplift the standard of Karate by inviting International Masters & Referees to conduct Seminars / Coaching Camps.
